In fashion terms, there seem to be no personalities further apart than reality TV star Kim Kardashian and the deceased designer Alexander McQueen – however, they both top this week’s Polyvore rankings in their respective categories. Plus: online shoppers go for jewelry and boyfriend shorts right now.
There’s a lot of movement in the brands section this week, caused by the ongoing fashion weeks and Polyvores using the various showcases as inspiration. Alexander McQueen, however, whose sales have risen by more than a thousand percent since his death, stays steady in popularity at the number one spot, and his website has entered the Top Sites ranking at #3.
Other than that, jewelry remains a favorite in online shopping with langantiques.com and alexisbittar.com entering the top ten. Musthaves.dk experienced a boost through Copenhagen fashion week, but the most stable among all websites stays net-a-porter.com, even though it loses two places this week.
Kim Kardashian, now with her own fashion line for bebe, which she premiered at New York fashion week, remains the most popular celebrity, serving as inspiration for countless collages. Models Jessica Stam and Anja Rubik follow on her heels, and Gemma Ward re-enters. Both Stam’s and Ward’s popularity are in tune with a growing preference for not-too-skinny models (see also Coco Rocha, Lara Stone).
Boyfriend shorts rocketed from #10 to #1 this week, even though editors are still divided over whether or not to embrace the trend.

Madonna, daughter Lourdes partner on junior fashion line

Madonna, daughter Lourdes partner on junior fashion line Madonna is hoping to go from fashion icon to fashion mogul with her latest endeavor. The pop star and her 13-year-old daughter, Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leon, are partnering on a junior fashion line called Material Girl, which will be sold exclusively at Macy's for back-to-school season, and although the clothes won't land in stores until Aug. 3, sketches were released Tuesday. The line is named after Madonna's 1984 hit song, and there are some similarities to the pop star's 1980s iteration — the (very) short skirt, the corset top, the layered jewelry. But the muse is Lourdes, or Lola as she is known, Madonna's daughter with trainer Carlos Leon. Material Girl will include apparel, footwear, jewelry and handbags, and items will range from $12 to $40. The first collection mixes hard and soft elements, "like a tutu dress and studded-combat boots, or an oversized boyfriend sweatshirt with a floral ...

Betsey Johnson Runway Show NYFW Fall 2010

Betsey Johnson Runway Show NYFW Fall 2010  Just out and hot off the runway is Betsey Johnson's Runway Show Fall 2010 Ready To Wear Collection..... NEW YORK , February 14, 2010 By Alison Baenen   Betsey returned to the runway and—to prove her performance skills hadn't dulled—made sure all the high-camp high jinks of old were in place. Kelly Osbourne, looking model thin, came out first, walking on a hay-strewn surface. She exuberantly tore off the bandanna covering her face, and…Yee-haw! We found ourselves in the Wild Wild West. Johnson's inspiration this season was, modestly, 45 years' worth of her own archives. "I'm working on my stuff, being very true-blue Betsey," she said. Her signature gun prints were there in spades, accessorized with candy-bright plastic pistols; there were striped bodysuits and tutus. The models sashayed along in groups with monikers like Banditos, Madames, and Brothelettes, usually with one among their number clad in a sweater...
